G1 Supercard was the first non-WWE professional wrestling event to take place in the famed Madison Square Garden in over 60 years. This historic event was a joint effort between Ring of Honor Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling. The event took place over 2 days and required a number of creative services, including brand design, social media marketing, digital signage, physical set design, broadcast design, and so much more.
I created the overall look and feel of the show in collaboration with the marketing team at NJPW’s home office in Tokyo, Japan. The goal was to create a look that would appeal to both American and Japanese professional wrestling fans, and ensuring that the brand integrity of both organizations remained intact with neither overpowering the other. This was a show for the ages and that needed to come through in all of the visual elements that were presented to the thousands of fans in attendance and the potential millions that were watching around the world. On April 6, 2019, the focus of the wrestling world was on G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden.
